SEPTEMBER 11TH

Where were you on this day when our country was under attack?

I can remember being home alone and seeing this on TV. It was so very shocking! I wanted all my family home with me so I could hug them and tell them how much I loved them! It left such an empty feeling! I still cringed when I hear a plane fly over our house that sounds like it is flying too low!

This is a day that will be etched into peoples minds forever. My heart aches for those who lost loved ones. I can only imagine what was going through their minds at that time and the ones who received that last phone call from a loved one! My heart goes out to each and everyone of them!!

I can remember how proud I was to be an American at this time. The outpouring love of everyone who came together at this horrific time of our lives!

As we remember this day lets us remember that we are One Nation Under God! May He comfort each and everyone of us!!!!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Labor Day 2008

Hello Everyone!
I sure hope you all have planned an enjoyable day! Go grab that cup of coffee or a cold glass of ice tea first and gather at my table!
For the last 2 days Kenny and I have cleared off the flowers in the front yard. We have a small front yard so it is landscaped with a pond and flowers. The summer started out so perfect with just the right amount of rain and sunshine. My flowers were doing so very good until the heat and no rain started. Watering became a chore instead of fun! I tell ya though my sunflowers and sweet annie sure did grow! I love sunflowers. It always amazes me how they turn their heads where ever the sun is shining! And how about the beautiful colors of sunflowers? You can get them in such a variety now. I've cut some of mine and have them hanging to dry. It is my first time trying this so I will let you know how they do. I'm wanting to make some prim bouquets with sunflowers, sweet annie, lavender, artemesia, tansy and some ornamental grass. All homegrown! Right now I'm just waiting on my sweet annie and will post about it another time!
Well now that the yard is all clear I'm ready to decorate for fall! I have brought up some things I had in the basement to decorate with now I just need to head upstairs and get the box of goodies out. This is my favorite time of year! You can see some of the trees around here starting to show their beautiful colors.
We will be heading to our youngest son Richie's house today for a picnic with family and friends. It will probably be our last for the year. I am thinking though of having a family get together at our state park in October for some homemade chili and homemade bread! It should be peak season by then for the leaves. The kids just love the big playground they have out there and I love getting together with our family so I think this would be lots of fun!
Since this is a busy day for some I wont keep you here long but sure hope you will all join me again as I write about my neck of the woods! May God Bless you always!!!!!
Oh and 1 more thing make sure you check out my pics of our pond and sunflowers!!! ENJOY!!!!
